A Rye attorney from Milton Road has admitted he worked to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars from a dead man's estate. Guy Parisi, who according to reports was the go-to lawyer for election cases and who served as a delegate for Donald Trump in the 2016 Republican convention, agreed to a sentencing range of 33 to 41 months. He had been indicted back in August.
LodHud and News 12 had the details:
"A prominent Westchester lawyer pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday for a scheme in which he tried to bilk the estate of a Mount Vernon man out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Guy Parisi, 71, of Rye, is the second lawyer associated with the estate of Alfred Mallard to plead guilty. Gregory Bayard, the original administrator of Mallard's estate, admitted in October that he took $1.4 million to pay for his own home renovations and other personal expenses.
Parisi for years was the go-to lawyer in election cases in Westchester. He was a delegate for Donald Trump at the 2016 Republican Convention and in 1985 ran unsuccessfully for county clerk when he was the lawyer for county Republicans and the Board of Legislators.
Much of Mallard's $6 million in stocks is held by the state Comptroller's unclaimed funds department. Parisi tried to use a firm established by his wife to get the money in order for them to claim a 15 percent fee. That percentage was much more than the commission Parisi was entitled to as administrator.
Prosecutors said Parisi concealed his wife's connection to the company and the funds could have been obtained from the state without hiring a recovery firm.
The mail fraud charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. Parisi's lawyer Jim Walden and federal prosecutors agreed that the sentencing range should be 33 to 41 months. A judge must consider that range but is not bound by it and Parisi agreed not to appeal any sentence that is within or below that range.
The lawyers also agreed that Parisi could face a fine of between $15,000 and $150,000…
Parisi pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Lisa Margaret Smith. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 29 by U.S. District Judge Kenneth Karas. Bayard is expected to be sentenced on March 1."

One of the finest free views of Long Island and Long Island Sound can be seen from a memorial bench atop the sledding hill at Rye Town Park. I’ve always enjoyed sitting there, even if just for a moment. It’s a lovely RTP view, high up, unobstructed by pretty much anything. The memorial dedication plaque reads:
“In Loving Memory of Grace & Joseph Parisi. In Recognition of a Lifetime of Dedicated Service. The City of Rye Republican Committee – October 1997.”
Online you can see that Grace (Rasulo) Parisi apparently died in July of 1994. Her husband, a former NYS Senator and ex-Chief Clerk of the Criminal Term of the Brooklyn Supreme Court predeceased her in May of 1990. According to published obituaries they are Guy Parisi’s parents.
A lot of bad has happened since 1990 in the Rye Republican Party. I know because I’ve documented it and reported it. The Rye Democratic Party has kept pace, which I’ve also documented and reported. And now this, one of the cruelest local politico crimes since Steve Otis’s lawless municipal treatment of elderly resident Bob Schubert.
What is it with so many NYS politicos? Self dealing, secret stealing. The view up there will never quite be the same.
