The Rye Arts Center Announces New Executive Director

The Board of The Rye Arts Center is proud to announce that Meg Rodriguez will be the organization’s next Executive Director, replacing Helen Gates who announced her retirement in February. A search committee, chaired by Board Member Jennifer Sandling, consulted with Paula Barbag, President of Consulting For A Cause, in an extensive search process that yielded candidates from far and wide.

Meg Rodriguez has an extensive background in marketing and finance, having worked at The Northern Trust Company, and PNC Institutional Management Corporation. Most recently she acted as Director of Outreach and Custom Marketing Programs at BFFL Co. a company dedicated to improving the experience and recovery of medical patients.

Rodriguez, a Rye resident, is no stranger to The RAC, having served on the Board since 2006. During this time she has served on the Executive Committee, Chaired the Membership Committee, served on the Gallery Committee, Chaired this year’s successful Irving Harper Auction Event, and has twice Chaired the RAC’s signature event, “Painters on Location.”

Excited to step into her new role, Rodriguez says, “The Rye Arts Center is an essential ingredient in the life of Rye. I look forward to working with the board, staff, instructors, students, members, and donors to bring the arts to our community. It is a wonderful team, and I am proud to be a part of it.”

In addition to her experience with The RAC, Ms. Rodriguez is active in many facets of the community. She is currently on the Board of Directors of The Children’s Dream Foundation, and has been involved with The American Yacht Club, Rye Middle School Parent Organizations, and 15th Twig.

“I plan to emphasize The RAC’s commitment to excellence, so that students, members and visitors can always expect a first-class experience.” says Rodriguez.

As Chair of the Search Committee, Sandling adds, “The RAC has built great momentum and is positioned to take significant strides forward. Meg brings a lot of energy, knowledge, and experience. We are all excited to work with her to pursue our mission.”

On Tuesday, June 9, The RAC will hold its annual meeting, marking the official leadership transition to Ms. Rodriguez.

The Rye Arts Center is the largest multi-arts center in southern Westchester, featuring visual, performing, media, and literary arts. It is a not-for-profit organization serving 20,000 people across 30 municipalities.
