It's the Rye PD with an automated message saying don't worry if a Marine helicopter gunship buzzes your house this Sunday… they are simply on the way to Rye Playland…
This Sunday, May 29th is Veterans & Service Members Appreciation Day at our (under or over-loved, depending on your view) Rye Playland. At 11:45am the festivities begin at the Music Tower Stage with a Memorial Day Tribute Ceremony and then at 2pm (weather permitting) the U.S. Marine Corps Helicopter Raid Demonstration down between Playland and Edith Read.
The helicopter raid is worth the trip if you have not seen it… watch a video from 2009 here, very cool.
