Residents Howl About Coyotes, Rye City Council Schedules Meeting

Rye is scheduling a pubic meeting about coyotes. Asked if there was a heightened number of coyotes, coyote sightings or other related activity, Rye City Manager Marcus Serrano told MyRye.com "The City Council and I received calls from a a few residents of seeing coyotes. There was a similar presentation years ago and it was decide that this would be a good opportunity to provide the information again."

The city is likely to be hypersensitive to howls about coyotes because of the extreme and unusual activity back in 2010 when  our city was overtaken by television news crews when there where two coyote attacks on children

The coyote meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 8:30pm at 1051 Boston Post Road, Rye, NY in the City Council Chambers. The Mayor and City Council have requested that a representative from the DEC (Department of Environmental Conservation) attend and answer questions from the public.
