The Jay Heritage Center on the Boston Post Road is partnering with the New York Botanical Garden and Westchester Land Trust from a program on land restoration and Restoring the American Landscape on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 3 – 5 pm.

Jessica A. Schuler, Director of the Thain Family Forest is responsible for the management of the 50 acre, old growth urban Forest including ecological restoration and the development of education and research programs. She teaches about urban forest restoration, invasive species, and native plants. Jessica earned a BS in plant science with distinction in research from Cornell University, is an ISA-certified arborist, and a Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner with the Society for Ecological Restoration.
Tate Bushell, Director of Stewardship with the Westchester Land Trust, oversees the management of 7,500 acres of natural lands in Westchester County, NY. This includes overseeing a portfolio of 200 conservation easements, developing and executing ecological stewardship projects, and providing access for passive recreation. Tate holds an MS in Ecology from the University of Vermont’s Field Naturalist Program and a BS in Biology from Ramapo College of New Jersey. He got his start teaching environmental education to kids and rehabilitating raptors.
