Rye Youth Council Fundraises November 18th by Rocking Out at Capitol Theatre

Robert Randolph and The Family Band will be the main attraction at the Rye Youth Council's Second Annual Benefit Concert on November 18 at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester. The funk and soul band’s sound is reminiscent of 1970s bands such as Earth, Wind & Fire and Sly & the Family Stone. Rolling Stone magazine has included lead steel guitarist Robert Randolph on their list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time.

Organizers hope that the event will attract a large crowd to support the social-emotional learning programs offered by the Rye Youth Council (RYC). The theme for this year's event is “Celebrating Character, Integrity and Community”.

“Last year’s big turnout represented such support from our community", says RYC board president Lisa Dominici Fairies. "People definitely enjoyed the relaxed, fun atmosphere of the beautiful and hip Capitol Theatre. And this year’s band will have us all dancing in the tiles! Get your tickets soon, it’s going to be an amazing night.” The evening’s pre-concert party will begin at 7pm with an open bar, food, and a silent auction.

This year, organizers decided to eliminate the live auction to give people more time to socialize and enjoy the evening out. The Rye Youth Council’s new Executive Director Diane Rosenthal is looking forward to the event. “Our organization plays such an important role in Rye. I am excited to spread the word, and to meet more members of this community!"

Tickets are now on sale at different sponsorship levels. The Marquee Sponsorship level includes the opportunity for a private meet and greet with the band before the show; other sponsorship levels include VIP seating as well as prominent recognition in the event program, all other benefit promotions, and on the RYC website.
