Mayor’s State of the City Address + More: Items on the Rye City Council Agenda for January 13, 2016

The city council's agenda for its meeting on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 is out.

There will be regular meeting held by the City Council of the City of Rye on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in Council Chambers in City Hall at 7:30pm. The Council will convene at 6:30pm and will adjourn into executive session to discuss personnel.

Let's check the batting order and highlights from the 22 agenda items.

  • First the President, Then… The State of the City Address by the Mayor.
  • Crowded Theater. Approval of the election of one new member to the Rye Fire Department.
  • Droop-a-Long. Appointment of the 2016 Deputy Mayor by the Mayor.
  • Patronage.
    • Appointment of a Council Member as Trustee of the Police Pension Fund, by the Mayor with
      Council approval, for a one-year term.
    • Designation of the City Council’s Audit Committee by the Mayor.
    • Designation of the City Council Liaisons by the Mayor.
  • Ahem! A Web Site? Welcome to the 21st Century. Designation of official City newspaper.
  • Ahem Again! Does Every Newspaper Get a Trophy? Designation of alternate City newspaper.
  • Open Mic. A crowd favorite. Residents may be heard on matters for Council consideration that do not appear on the agenda.
  • Bonding. Designation of the amounts of faithful performance bonds:
    • A. City Comptroller $ 1,000,000

  • Patronage. Appointments to Boards and Commissions, by the Mayor with Council approval.
    • A) Two appointments to the Board of Architectural Review for a three-year term.
    • B) Two appointments to the Planning Commission for a three-year term.
    • C) Four appointments to the Recreation Commission for a three-year term.
  • Walk, Don't Run. Resolution authorizing the implantation and funding of the Rye City School District Pedestrian Improvements Project (PIN 8761.10) providing authorization for the City Manager to enter into an agreement with the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) for the Pedestrian Safety improvement projects.
  • May Not Need This… Resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with the County of Westchester for Snow and Ice Removal on County Roads for the period October 1, 2015 to September 30, 2020.
  • Shhhh! Very Quiet Event. Resolution to grant permission to the Rye Free Reading Room to hold a free community event on the Village Green on Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. to at 3:00 p.m.
  • eBay. Resolution to declare certain City of Rye Police equipment as surplus. Roll Call.

The next regular meeting of the City Council will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 7:30pm.
